Located to 410 km to the northeast of Lima (5-6 hours in car and 7-8 in bus), in the department of Ancash. The Cordillera Blanca constitutes the highest tropical mountainous chain in the world and it is crowned by the Huascarán Ice-Mountain with its 6 768 masl. This mountain range has an infinity of trekking circuits.
The starting point to arrive is Huaraz, Capital of the Region Ancash.
It is recommended to have the services of a muleteer and an donkey for an easy expedition. In the last years the use of llamas has become more popular in these areas of the Peru.
